In 1991 the City of Westlake Mayor Dennis Clough and our founding sponsor, St. John West Shore Hospital, agreed to host a five-mile charity run in Westlake, Ohio. Since 1991, Celebrate Westlake has raised over 1.4 million dollars for local charities such as Westlake D.A.R.E., Far West Center, Westlake Dept. of Senior & Community Services, SJWS Cancer Care Initiative, SJWS Community Outreach and Wellness Ministry program, University Hospitals Woman's Health Center and more.
Over the years, Celebrate Westlake has become an annual community event, comprised of events such as a 5-mile run, 3-mile walk and a kids fun run. Free food and refreshments are provided for participants and spectators. Music and children's activities make it a fun day for the entire family.
